How to add new theme in Magento?

Magento is very easy to use framework that one without deep technical knowledge can change the layout as per their own design requirement.

To change your magento theme, all you need to do is as below:

• Copy the template files from app/design/frontend/base/default/template into app/design/frontend/{yourthemename}/default/template
• Copy the layout files from app/design/frontend/base/default/layout into app/design/frontend/{yourthemename}/default/layout
• Copy the skin files (includes js, css and images folder) from skin/frontend/base/default into skin/frontend/{yourthemename}/default/

After copying the base files into your customized theme {yourthemename} you can modify all the respective files as per your design.
